Settima pole position in altrettante gare per la Red Bull. Ad aggiudicarsela è Mark Webber, che con il tempo di 1'26"295 centra la terza pole consecutiva, e la sua quarta stagionale. A completare la prima fila è uno strepitoso Lewis Hamilton, che riesce a mettersi dietro l'altra Red Bull di Vettel grazie a un errore commesso dal tedesco nel suo ultimo tentativo. 4° è Jenson Button, che precede le Mercedes di Schumacher e Rosberg, e la Renault di Kubica; la prima Ferrari è quella di Massa 8°, mentre è disastroso Alonso, 12° ed eliminato nella Q2. A completare la top ten, 9° Petrov (Renault) e 10° Kobayashi (Sauber).Red Bull che dimostra ancora di essere più forte per chiunque, anche se la McLaren stavolta è davvero vicina, e sembra essere l'unica al momento a poterla impensierire, in particolare con Hamilton, veloce e costante.
Per la Ferrari il weekend è finora negativo: i progressi sperati non si vedono, e l'ennesimo errore di Alonso preoccupa parecchio, così come la mancanza di grinta di Massa; non resta che sperare nella gara, ma le premesse non inducono all'ottimismo.

Seventh pole position in seven race for Red Bull. Mark Webber, with the time of 1'26"295 get the third consecutive pole, and his fourth on season. To complete the first row is an amazing Lewis Hamilton, who manages to get behind the other Red Bull of Vettel, thanks to an error committed by the german driver in his last attempt. 4th is Jenson Button, who precede the Mercedes of Schumacher and Rosberg, and Kubica on Renault. Massa with Ferrari is 8°, while Alonso is a disaster 12° and eliminated in Q2. Close the top ten Petrov 9° (Renault) and Kobayashi 10° (Sauber).
